Inert Gas Blends

Datasheet

Typical applications are:
  • machinery

  • control and ventilation spaces

  • communications/computer rooms

  • control rooms

  • flammable liquid hazards

Advantages
  • Electrically non-conductive

  • Blend of naturally occurring gases

  • Zero Ozone Depletion Potential

  • No agent breakdown products since inert gases are not subject to thermal decomposition

  • Similar density to that of air. This means that, should there be a problem of leakage in the compartment, they retain their concentration in the risk area better than Halon

Disadvantages
  • Relatively slow flame extinguishing

  • High pressure storage, requiring solid drawn high pressure storage cylinders

  • Large volume of gas required, which has implications for space and weight
