Water Mist Systems
Typical applications are:
- flammable liquid hazards
- warehouses, hotels
- general commercial applications
- retail, etc..
Advantages
- Can be used in occupied and unoccupied areas Rapid flame extinguishing The application rate for a fine water spray system is far less than that for a sprinkler system, so some of the problems of possible water damage are avoided
- Seen as being 'Green'
Disadvantages
- Can cause some water damage
- Cannot be used for certain risks including live electrical equipment, areas of hot working i.e. salt-baths or any risk that would react violently with water
