Ensuring a secure environment for schools
 Schools know about the 3 R’s. They should think seriously about making a provision for the 3 D’s – Deterrence, Detection, and Detention.
More than £580 million of additional funding will soon become available for schools to help develop sport in the community.
To receive some of the funding, schools will be required to open to the community from 6am until 10pm. As a result there are very real concerns created by the increased risks posed by vandalism, theft and personal attacks.
Here we look at some of the threats schools should take into consideration in order to protect people, assets and property.

Vandalism in schools
Vandalism and graffiti account for the majority of individual criminal incidents within the school environment – but reports of incidents decreasing by up to 90% are common where CCTV cameras have been installed. |
