Duplex Video Multiplexer
When used with a Chubb video cassette recorder, the Multiplexer will provide an
historical record of all the cameras connected to the system. At the same time
displaying pictures either in a multiscreen format or as full screen images. These
pictures can then be reviewed in multiscreen mode to quickly search through a
complete videotape to find an incident. The operator can then display that picture as
a full screen view, for the best possible detail.
This duplex version is recommended for use on a manned site when the multiscreen
display allows an operator to view the whole site on one monitor. If 2 video
recorders are used it is possible to record and play back at the same time.
To keep the unit as simple to operate as possible many of the processes are
automated. Some multiplexers expect the operator to reconfigure the multiplexer
whenever he changes the recording speed of the video recorder, the Chubb
Multiplexer automatically follows the speed of the video recorder to keep the
Multiplexer in perfect step with the video recorder.
Many companies like to display pictures from their cameras in public areas as a
deterrent, this can mean that covert cameras are also displayed, the Chubb
Multiplexer provides the ability to record all of the cameras connected to the system
but also to hide any nominated cameras from public display.
