Halon Conference
Changes in fire and security standards and regulations continue apace during 2001. One of these is the removal of Halon from fire fighting systems. From 31st December 2002 Halon systems cannot be re-charged except in essential applications and by 31st December 2003 all Halon must be decommissioned and safely disposed of.
Chubb Fire Detection Division, is holding a Halon conference. This seminar is targeted at informing industry in the changes in regulations and to provide updates on the latest alternatives.
This is taking place on the 4th September at University College Dublin. Guest speaker includes Dr. Jack Tracey, expert in Environmental Chemistry, Dublin Institute of Technology.
The aim of the Halon Conference is to educate the relevant people as to the impending changes in fire standards and regulations, particularly European Regulation EC/5748 introduced in 1999 which will accelerate the removal of Halon from fire fighting systems.
If you are a consultant, mechanical contractor, electrical contractor or a user of Halon and are interested in attending the conference please contact sinead.horgan@chubb.ie for details.
